A man accused of robbing a Greenville bank and leaving his clothes behind has turned himself in, police say.
Greenville police said they were notified by the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office that deputies had a man in custody who said he had robbed the First Citizens Bank on Tuesday.
Herbert Daniel Pugh, of Simpsonville, was taken to the Greenville County Law Enforcement Center, where he spoke with investigators about the robbery.
Pugh is charged with bank robbery and is being held in the Greenville County Detention Center.
Greenville police said Pugh went into the First Citizens Bank at 928 North Pleasantburg Drive about 11:20 a.m. Tuesday. He approached an employee and inquired about opening an account, police said.
Police said Pugh then approached the counter, handed a bank teller a note demanding money. He left the bank after receiving an undisclosed amount of cash.
Officers said when they searched the area, they located clothing items near the bank believed to have been worn by Pugh during the robbery.
I noticed this old news story. Yes, I knew the guy. He wanted to go to prison because he could not survive in the outside like he could in there. He was a drug addict.
ReplyDeleteWe can believe this. We have heard of other's committing crimes just to get back inside Prisons. Can't cope with the outside World. Some would be shocked. Not us or you. #Facts
