Great Point. Don't Judge. Pray one day you don't need assistance ... Spot On ... Amen ... Please don't Judge others.

The Topic is Food Stamps ..

For the people who have such strong opinions on what people who get this type of assistance should be eating, Have you ever requested an extension on one of your bills or made partial payments or set up payment plans because couldn’t make your payment right when it was due?? If so, how would you feel if the person/company you needed to pay says “you know what, I know you purchased a case of soda and some snacks for your kids last week at the grocery store, you should have used that money for your bill instead of junk food and non nutritious items. We’re not gonna assist you. Make your payment in full or get your lights turned off (or get evicted or get your car repossessed or get your license suspended because your insurance is about to lapse).” And what about the people who foster children and need the assistance to help feed those children?? Those children already don’t have their own families, and now you think they don’t deserve to be able to have snacks. Or the senior citizen who only gets 20$ in Ebt a month because their retirement check is just “high enough” to for the government to say that’s all the assistance they’re allowed to get, that person can’t go in a buy 20 1$ microwaveable meals or boxes of ramen to be able to feed themselves most of the month because they are considered unhealthy. Oh and let’s not forget that for every dollar spent with Ebt actually makes 2$ for the economy. Why are you so concerned about what the single mom who’s raising 4 kids by herself, because her husband was killed by a drunk driver, is buying with her Ebt card?? Does it hurt you if she’s buying “junk food”?? Does it make you live longer if she buys apples and store brand items?? No. Quit acting like people who need help deserve to be treated less than because they get assistance. And pray to whoever you pray to that you’re not in that kind of situation one day in your life. It’s easy to judge those less fortunate than you when you’ve never been in the situation. Everyone needs a hand up at sometime in their life. Don’t act like you’re better than the next because you didn’t need the same hand up someone else did.
