A man was arrested in connection with a violent purse snatching during which a mother and her young daughter in Northern California were dragged down a flight of stairs, police said Tuesday.

See Video Below:
The robbery happened last week in the 1500 block of Towers Lane in San Jose, police said.
Surveillance video shows a man in a hooded sweatshirt walking up behind the mother and daughter while they were going up some stairs. The man then grabbed the purse and ran. However, the mother was still holding onto the purse and her young daughter.
The video then shows the man running down the flight of stairs, dragging the mother and daughter behind him.
During the investigation, police identified Cabrera as the suspect and linked him to other purse robberies.

“All of Cabrera’s victims were Asian females carrying expensive purses,” police said in a statement. “Cabrera attacked victims from behind, grabbed their purse, and ran to his car.”
At Cabrera’s home, investigators found evidence linking him to other robberies. Police said Cabrera was on parole for burglary at the time of the robberies.
“We are fortunate this predator was caught before any more members of the public were victimized,” Chief Eddie Garcia said in a statement. “I am incredibly proud of the work of our Robbery detectives and the continued work the men and women of the San Jose Police Department do on a daily basis."

Cabrera was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on charges of robbery and parole violation.
