Norad did deploy a jet from the US, as it would have arrived before the Canadian fighter jets would have, as they are based in another province. The hijacked plane landed before the US F-15 arrived, so it turned back.

Such a relief to view a post that’s not tragic… tragic for the rerouted commercial crews and passengers! Tragic as in annoying but better safe than sorry!! Kudos to the controller and ground crews at Vancouver and the amount of cops who showed up!
