Bank Robbery Suspect. Wanted for other Robberies as well. Eric Anthony Rome Jr., 30

A man wanted in connection with several robberies in and around Greenville was arrested less than 20 minutes after robbing a bank Wednesday morning, according to Greenville police spokesman Donnie Porter.
Eric Anthony Rome Jr., 30, is charged with bank robbery and is being held at the Greenville County Detention Center without bond, Porter said.

The latest robbery was reported just after 10 a.m. at the Bank of Travelers Rest on Pelham Road.
Porter said Rome went into the bank and demanded cash from a teller, indicating he had a gun in his waistband.
Rome left the bank on foot with the cash.
Police established a perimeter around the area of East North Street and Pelham Road, according to Porter.
A witness flagged down a patrol officer, saying a suspicious man ran from the bank into a convenience store on Pelham Road.
Police immediately went to the store and found Rome hiding in the bathroom, Porter said.
He was taken into custody without incident.
“Frankly, there is always a tremendous sense of relief for the victims and enormous satisfaction for police when we are able to respond, locate, and arrest a suspect so quickly,” said Capt. Howie Thompson, of the Greenville Police Department Investigations Division.
