Man who Murdered Upstate Roommate, then Cellmate, Accused of Killing Again.

A 54-year-old man who killed a roommate in 1998 and a cellmate in 2002, is charged with murder in the death last month of another cell mate.

William Edward Tillman is accused of killing his cellmate, Carl Pollen Jr., at Perry Correctional Institute in Pelzer on April 29.
Tillman was convicted of the fatal stabbing of his roommate, Harry Jolley Jr., 53, at their Boiling Springs home in December 1998. Police said Tillman stabbed Jolley in the neck during an argument.
Jolley was a Dorman High School graduate with a master’s degree in English from East Tennessee State. He was an Army veteran who taught English to children of U.S. troops during the Vietnam War, GoUpstate reported.
Tillman was sentenced in 1999 to life in prison for Jolley’s murder, WIS-TV reported.
In 2002, Tillman fatally stabbed his cellmate, Michael Hodge, 37, at McCormick Correctional Institute.
Hodge was serving a 10-year sentence for property crimes in Spartanburg County
Tillman was sentenced to an additional 30 years in prison for Hodge’s murder.
Department of Corrections police said Tillman kicked Pollen in the head several times and strangled him with a bedsheet early on the morning on April 29. Pollen died about an hour later, officials said.
Pollen was sentenced to life in prison in 2002 for the stabbing and beating death of Clara Payne in 1999.
Payne owned a motel where Pollen worked and lived, officials said.

Racist Come in all Colors. Emanuel Kidega Samson. Wanted to Kill 10 White People.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A prosecutor said Monday that a black man charged with fatally shooting a woman and wounding seven people at a Nashville church aimed to kill at least 10 white churchgoers and cited a 2015 massacre at a black church in South Carolina.
Nashville Deputy District Attorney Amy Hunter made the comments during opening statements in the trial of Emanuel Kidega Samson, 27. Prosecutors have said they're seeking life without parole for Samson, who faces a 43-count indictment, including a first-degree murder charge, in the September 2017 shooting at Burnette Chapel Church of Christ.

Samson's attorney, Jennifer Lynn Thompson, countered that Samson's true intention was to kill himself. He left a suicide note for his girlfriend and sent a goodbye video to his cousin, according to Thompson.

Members of the church packed the courtroom, at times becoming emotional when attorneys and witnesses recounted a Sunday filled with chaos, tragedy and heroism. The shooting rampage killed 38-year-old Melanie L. Crow of Smyrna, Tennessee. She was shot in the church parking lot, and dropped her Bible and notes from a recently concluded worship ceremony that had just concluded, Hunter said.
Samson, who used to attend the church, is black and the victims are white. Hunter explained that a note in Samson's car cited white supremacist Dylann Roof's massacre at a black church in Charleston, South Carolina, in 2015. It also referenced the red, black and green Pan-African flag, sometimes called RBG.
"Dylann Roof is less than nothing," the note read, Hunter said. "The blood that 10 of your kind will shed is that of the color upon the RBG flag in terms of vengeance." The note included an expletive and ended with a smiley face, Hunter said.
"This state will prove beyond all reasonable doubt that on Sept. 24, 2017, this defendant, Emanuel Kidega Samson, went to the Burnette Chapel Church of Christ with the intent to murder a minimum of 10 white churchgoers on that day," Hunter said. "You won't have to take the state's word for it though."

An arrest affidavit said Samson waived his rights and told police he arrived armed and fired at the church, described by the prosecutor as a multicultural, multigenerational community where everyone knows everyone.
Hunter also said the calamity revealed a "true life hero."
Churchgoer Robert Caleb Engle has testified that during the rampage, he twice confronted the gunman, who was wearing a tactical vest and a motorcycle-style mask with a clown smile on it. Engle said he was pistol-whipped three times in the head. At one point, he pushed the gun back on the shooter and a shot fired, striking the gunman and sending him to the ground.
Engle said his father kicked the gun away, stood on the shooter's hand and told Engle to go get his gun out of his truck.
Engle came back with his weapon, put his foot on the shooter's back and stood guard until first responders arrived.
A judge's order had kept many details of the case secret until trial.
At a hearing in April, it was revealed that a psychiatrist diagnosed Samson with "schizoaffective disorder bipolar type" and post-traumatic stress disorder after an abusive, violent upbringing.
"What this case is about is a man who was very sad, very suicidal, and he was looking to die that day," Thompson told jurors Monday.

Traveling Carnival Worker has Admitted to Killing Three Women in an 18 day Killing Spree across Virginia. Murderer Thug James Michael Wright.

Police say a traveling carnival worker has admitted to killing three women in an 18-day killing spree across Virginia.
WJHL reports James Michael Wright, 23, is charged with three counts of capital murder, three counts of using a firearm in committing a murder and three counts of concealment of a dead body.

Sick O

Wright reportedly confessed to killing three women he met through his job at James H. Drew Exposition, a carnival traveling up and down the East Coast. All three women had been reported missing between the dates of Feb. 28, 2019, and March 17, 2019.
ABC News reports that investigators in Tennessee contacted authorities in Washington County, Virginia, about two weeks ago in regard to setting up an interview with Wright, who they had identified as a suspect in the search for missing woman Athina Hopson, 25.
As police executed a search warrant on Wright's truck, they discovered Hopson's cell phone. Hopson's father had reached out to Wright on Facebook.
“Have u seen athina,” he wrote, according to the Washington Post. “She is missing . . . people say she was with u . . . this is her dad."
As he was being interviewed by detectives from Tennessee, Wright allegedly confessed to killing Hopson along with two other victims.
Elizabeth Marie Vanmeter, 22, was reported missing from her Tennessee home on March 17. Wright allegedly told officers he shot and killed her on Feb. 28 after an argument.
Joslyn M. Alsup, 17, was reported missing on March 8. Wright allegedly confessed to killing her the next day.
Hopson was reported missing by her mother on March 21. Wright allegedly told investigators he shot and killed her on March 17 before dumping her body in a river.
Investigators have found what they believe to be the remains of Alsup and Vanmeter, while Hopson's remains have not been located.
Washington County, Virginia Sheriff Fred Newman said Wright told authorities all three killings were accidental.
"Although he stated they were accidental, we find that hard to believe based on the information that we have," Newman said.
In the deaths of Alsup and Hopson, Wright gave some series of events supporting his claim that the killings were accidental. Wright claimed that he accidentally shot Alsup while trying to shoot an animal in the woods. Wright allegedly claimed he shot Hopson in the head, twice, on accident. He explained they were going for a walk, and that he tripped and shot her in the head, then tripped again and accidentally shot her again.
Newman said all three killings happened in an 18-day period in Washington County, Virginia. Newman told the Rome News-Tribune it would be appropriate to refer to Wright as a “serial killer.”
Washington County Commonwealth Attorney Joshua Cumbow said it is possible his office will seek the death penalty. He is being held in the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail.
Hopson’s mother, Bonnie Griffith, told WJHL her daughter had been struggling financially and had been cleaning Wright's house for money after meeting him through the carnival.
"Why? What was going through this man's head," Griffith said. "Why would he do this to these girls that are innocent and probably trusted him?"
Officials said they are working with the carnival company to trace its route.
“We’re working with that carnival to make a determination of the locations they did set up the carnival and attempt to see if there are missing persons that might have been reported,” Newman said.
