21-year-old Cheyanne Harris was sentenced to a mandatory sentence of life in prison without parole Tuesday morning after being convicted of first-degree murder and child endangerment leading to death in the starvation death of her 4-month old son, Sterling Koehn.
Koehn was found infested with maggots in his baby swing inside his parents Alta Vista apartment on Aug. 30, 2017. An autopsy revealed that Koehn died of malnutrition, dehydration and an E. coli infection. Prosecutors say he was left in a maggot-infested diaper for up to two weeks leading up to his death.
