Police Reported of a fight Saturday night and ended up arresting 5 five people for underage drinking and one for providing the alcohol. Claude Smith.
Police said when they arrived at the home on Piedmont at about midnight they saw several people on the front porch and in the house drinking beer. When the officers pulled up, several people ran into the house, and some tried to climb out windows to avoid the officers, but stopped when police told them to.
The officers said there were beer cans strewn around and several of the people in the home were visibly intoxicated and were slurring when questioned and smelled of alcohol.
Police Reports said Claude Dabney Smith, 21, (pictured above) who lives in the home, swore at officers and told them to get out of his house. Officers said since all the other people in the house were under-age, Smith was arrested and charged with transfer of alcohol to minors.
Dakota James Goldman, 17, who also lives in the home, and Robert Lee Settles, 18, and Alison Rae Hepler, 19, were charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor. A 15-year-old who was also drinking was arrested and turned over to his father, police said.
Police Reports aid 17-year-old Kristopher Dean Butler also appeared drunk, and when officers tried to handcuff and search him, he became belligerent and struggled with them while shouting expletives and racial slurs. Officers said they searched Butler and found a baggie containing marijuana in his pocket. Butler was charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor, possession of marijuana, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
