Sex Offender Arrested while attending Sheriff’s Office benefit softball game. Crazy and a perv ..

HENDERSON COUNTY, N.C. —
A 50-year-old registered sex offender was arrested Saturday while attending a sheriff’s office benefit softball game, a news release said.
The news release from the Henderson County Sheriff's Office said Billy Gene Weesner, of Columbus, was out on bond when Polk County deputies saw him attending the softball game between the Sheriff’s Office and the Henderson County Senior Softball team.
The game was a fundraiser to benefit special needs sports at Jackson Park
Weesner is a lifetime registered sex offender and was arrested on a felony count of sex offender unlawfully on premises, the release said.
The release said Weesner had been arrested April 8 in Polk County for violating terms and conditions of his court mandated registry status.
Weesner remains in custody of the Henderson County Detention Facility under $10,000 secured bond.

State Trooper Released from Hospital after Shootout with Suspect during Traffic Stop. Near Rock Hill, SC


YORK COUNTY, S.C. —
The South Carolina Highway Patrol said a trooper was involved in a shooting Sunday night during a traffic stop.
The South Carolina Department of Public Safety said the incident started around 7:45 p.m. near Mount Gallant Road and Lexie Lane near Rock Hill.
Investigators said Trooper Paul Wise attempted to stop a driver for no seat belt, but the vehicle drove off, starting a short chase.

The chase eventually stopped on Inda Hook Road when the driver hit the gate at Camp Canaan Campground, authorities said.
Once the car was stopped, the driver got out of the vehicle and started firing at the trooper, troopers said.

Wise returned fire and both he and the suspect were hit in the exchange of gunfire, investigators said.
Both Wise and the suspect were taken to the hospital with injuries that authorities said were not life-threatening.
Wise was struck by gun fire with a round hitting his bullet-proof vest, troopers said. They said he was released from the hospital Monday morning and is in good spirits and resting at home with his family.
“I am so thankful that his issued body armor stopped the round, saving his life,” said SCDPS Director Leroy Smith. “As I said during last night’s news briefing, law enforcement is a calling, and this is why we refer to these brave men and women—like Trooper Wise—as heroes. Our law enforcement works day and night to ensure the safety and security of us all.”
Wise will be placed on administrative duties once he returns to work, as per department protocol. He has been with the SC Highway Patrol since September 2016.
The suspect was identified by the Department of Public Safety as Willie Bernard Wright, 27, of Gaffney.
The shooting is being investigated by the State Law Enforcement Division.

The Department of Public Safety said Wise is assigned to Highway Patrol Troop Four, York County.

Cox Brothers Charged in Brutal Beating. Police search for third suspect. Victim is in critical condition .. John and Ronald Cox ..






GREENVILLE, S.C. —
Two brothers were arrested on assault charges Saturday as Greenville police continue to look for someone else in connection with a crime in Greenville. Police said the incident happened early in the morning at the intersection of East Washington Street and South Brown Street.
Police say witnesses told officers that three people brutally beat a person unconscious. It's not clear why the attack happened.
Police say the victim is currently in critical condition.
Officers arrested brothers John Cox and Ronald Cox, III. Both are from Greenville. John Cox, 22, and Ronald Cox, 27, were arrested and charged with assault and battery by mob in the second degree.
Greenville police are still on the hunt for a third person in connection with the assault. Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Greenville police.

Police Officers find Body with No Head, No Hands in Woods



WILKESBORO, N.C. (WGHP) -- Police came upon a horrific scene last Thursday while searching the woods near Mountain View Apartments, according to an incident report.
At about 7:21 p.m., a resident at Mountain View Apartment reported that he saw a tent in the woods near the complex and wanted an officer to take a look.
Two officers went into the woods to look for the tent, heading in from several different areas due to the thick underbush.
When the officers went into the woods from the southeast, near a cellphone tower on Winker Mill Road, they came across a body.
Police report that there was no head or hands.
The body had a green jacket, khaki pants and brown boots on.
GPS coordinates place the body at the woods behind a Lowes Foods of Wilkesboro and Big Lots.
Investigators have not found any gunshot or stab wounds, or defensive wounds on the body, Garris said.

Wilkesboro Police Chief Craig Garris said they have no reason to believe criminal activity was involved in the death.

Police are currently looking to identify the body.
