The estranged husband of a woman found dead in an abandoned home last month is now wanted for murder in connection with her death and should be considered armed and dangerous, according to Simpsonville police.

Simpsonville police said they have signed a murder warrant for 28-year-old John Tufton Blauvelt, her estranged husband. They said he was last seen at the Las Cruces, New Mexico border on Nov. 15 just before 8 p.m.
Blauvelt worked as an Army recruiter in Greenville County and is now considered AWOL, Moore said.
Moore said investigators believe Blauvelt is with his traveling with his 17-year-old girlfriend. The teenager's parents reported her missing.
Fountain Inn Police Chief Keith Morton said Hannah Thompson's parents reported her missing on Monday.

According to the missing person report, Thompson's mother told police that she continues to receive text messages from Hannah's phone. The messages claimed that the teenager plans to return for Christmas and that she was busy buying presents. However, the report stated that investigators said the teenager's bank account has remained untouched.
They said he was driving a 2000 GMC Yukon with SC license plate JKY-829.
Police said John Blauvelt should be considered armed and dangerous.
Another man is also charged with murder in connection with Catherine Blauvelt’s death, police said.

They said Charles Sidney Scott, Jr., 31, was already in jail on unrelated charges when the warrants were served for murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
John Blauvelt and Scott killed Catherine Blauvelt at the home where she was found, according to arrest warrants.
Catherine Blauvelt was last seen leaving work at PetSmart on Woodruff Road the day she was killed, Moore said.
After some friends became aware that she was missing, they started to search for her, Moore said. He said one of the friends got off work at midnight Oct. 25., and decided to check on the abandoned home that the friends had used for a hangout when they were kids. The friends found Catherine Blauvelt’s body in a cellar room in the basement of the house.
Blauvelt had previous criminal charges filed earlier this year in Fountain Inn for domestic violence and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Morton said domestic charge stems from an incident when Blauvelt threatened to harm his wife and himself with firearms. Blauvelt was also accused of providing alcohol to minors, Morton said.
