It cannot be understated the threat #helene poses across the southeastern United States just based on current intensity projections. There doesn’t appear to be any wiggle room on the downside either. This will be a historic storm for many including southern Appalachia with flooding and wind damage. Pray I’m wrong, I want to be. Be safe all and protect your families and property as best you can.

Helene is expected to make landfall on Florida's Big Bend this evening as a major category 4 hurricane, bringing the risk of catastrophic damage. At 5 a.m. ET Helene was 385 miles south-west of Tampa with wind speeds of 90 mph, traveling north-north-east at 12 mph.

I was an A330 pilot and this had a huge psychological effect on

me when it happened. Eastbound at night over the Atlantic it was hard not to see how you

were in the same situation as these guys were,cruising along safely,

yet 5 minutes later they were all dead. Rewatching this was honestly harrowing. Sometimes I'm glad I'm retired and thank God I never so much as

scratched the paint on an airplane. Praying for you Petter and all my colleagues out there that you stay

safe! Airbus killed them.
